What inspires you?

2012 went out with a bang - blue bird skies, heaving tides, juicy practices, late nights out, and not a day where hunger dared rumbled through my belly.  I'm lucky to call the Island home when I'm in Vancouver, and Vancouver home when I'm back visiting my old stomping grounds on the Island.   Victoria pulled at all the old heart strings - starring the growing and flourishing local businesses of an incredible place to stroll and see what you stumble across.  It's inspiring to see people investing in the community and passionate about what gets them up and out the door every morning.

Back into the swing of things in the big city and I've treated myself to a week filled with practices lead by inspiring teachers contributing to our community.  As my 2013 Vision Board comes together, one piece in particular is shining through, thanks to the wisdom of a great teacher, and like her, I think it's worth a thought or two.  It may be a new year, with new opportunities brimming to be experienced but there are also some things that have worked over the year(s), things that, in our haste to embark on exciting new habits, experiences and resolutions, we risk forgetting to carry with us.  So maybe the what inspires us isn't something new, or something to be in search of, it's already there.  The ebb and flow of community weave their way off the mat and into every knot that complicates goals and resolutions and just might be my inspiration.  What a treat to be surrounded by communities that inspire and support the movements in our lives - thanks Best Coast.
